This is more information on the Etching Study that was co-financed by the San Fernando Valley Chapter of IPPSA and reported on in the February 15, 2003 issue of Service Industry News.

onBalance performed a study on the effect of etching on swimming pool plaster. This study included the professional analysis of eight plaster samples by a cement failure analysis laboratory. The study was reported on in the February 15, 2003 issue of Service Industry News.

This type of study is very expensive (lab charges alone can approach a thousand dollars per sample!) so we are very grateful to the San Fernando Valley Chapter of IPPSA for their generous donation. It is due to this type of willingness to sacrifice for the sake of knowledge that advances in the industry can be made.

We also appreciate the expertise and assistance of the RJ Lee Group, one of the nation's pre-eminent cement failure analysis laboratories.
